- P/T ESL INSTRUCTOR
We are looking for experienced p/t ESL instructors to join us in the teaching of American language and culture to international students.
Job Title: ESL Instructor
Salary Range: 18.00-25.00/hour
Type: Part/time, Flexible hours; will teach morning and/or evening ESL classes, as assigned.
SUMMARY:
The English as a second language (ESL) instructor shall be responsible for providing instruction for ESL classes, performing student assessments and placement, and assist in curriculum development. The ESL instructor will work with the Director of Education/Program Coordinator in implementing the goals and activities of the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan and deliver instruction for various levels of English as a Second Language classes.
-Design and produce teaching materials.
-Assist with the selection of instructional materials for the ESL program.
-Perform student assessment and appropriate placement.
-Maintain appropriate records and information.
-Assist in student use of current technology.
-Assist in curriculum development. Evaluate educational materials. Prepare information for inspection visits and other quality assurance activities;
-Coach and support students in developing and accomplishing learning goals.
-Assess and document student progress, assist with data collection efforts, and complete required reports.
-Attend and participate in mandatory meetings, professional development activities,
-Work collaboratively with other ESL instructors (both daytime and evening) to combine classes and/or team teach as appropriate/needed.
– Meet regularly with supervisor to go over any issues in the classroom that need further attention.
-Comply with all mandatory reporting statutes.
-Help draft and review institutional policies relating to teaching ESL students
-Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in a related field with ESL classroom teaching experience or a Bachelor Degree in Teaching ESL or a Foreign Language Degree with ESL classroom teaching experience and/or certification in ESL.
Experience teaching and working with adults and adult education programs.
Microsoft Office proficiency, ability to use technology within the classroom environment.
Must pass a criminal background check.

SUMMARY:
perform and oversee a variety of general office support assignments where the processing of non-confidential documents and recording, retrieving, and distribution of data or information is an essential and/or substantial part of the work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Checks and/or compares documents, forms, applications, or other materials for accuracy, completeness, grammar, and format.
-Composes routine correspondence and memoranda in accordance with instructions.
-Collects, sorts, batches, alphabetizes, codes, and/or places in alphabetical order various documents for filing, storage, or processing.
-Organizes, maintains, and/or purges files, documents, and/or logs.
-Prepares and processes bills, invoices, receipts, statements, checks, and other financial documents.
-Receives and responds to inquiries by providing directions, instructions, promotional material, or other general information or referring such inquiries to the appropriate persons.
-Schedules appointments, keeps logs and records of telephone calls.
-Distributes and provides instructions for completion of applications and other forms; reviews forms for proper completion. Handles and processes mail.
-Performs typing duties
-Enters, retrieves, updates, verifies, and deletes information from manual and electronic non-confidential files.
-Retrieves and compiles data and prepares reports.
-Interprets and applies instructions and guidelines to resolve work problems.
Operates standard office equipment.
Other duties may be assigned.
